The coaching relationship is a collaborative partnership. Coaches ask questions to understand what you have shared and to play back what they heard. They do not give advice, and, in some cases, they do make suggestions. This gives you the confidence and self-belief in your abilities to navigate through life’s twists and turns. In addition, many like the accountability aspect of having a coach.
Coaching is not therapy, although it can feel very therapeutic when you have the headspace to think. It is also not consulting, which is where experienced business professionals give advice and guidance. If needed, therapy and/or consulting can be addressed during different sessions with the proper professionals.

Each coaching session is confidential between the coach and coachee, even when taking part on behalf of the organization. An organization can help set the direction and outcomes for the action plans and will receive updates against that plan without compromising confidentially.
